Finally…

Next to me is a copy of The Place Where Love Lives.

It is amazing to me to see it in print, this labor of love that I started so many years ago.

My hope is that this book will help us to see that we, the people of the earth, are not so different.  And that we will share this message with our young children.

We are all part of the family of humankind. We live on a beautiful planet filled with an amazing array of cultures, customs, beliefs, music, dances, art, and languages.

However, there are many times that we allow our differences to give us reasons to hurt each other. We set ourselves apart because of skin color, place of origin, religious beliefs, sexual preference, political affiliation, and appearance…the list goes on and on.

We use these differences to justify bullying, shaming, abuse, injustice, oppression, wars and a seemingly infinite number of ways to inflict pain on each other.

But I sincerely believe that each of us has the power to remove fear, break down barriers, open our hearts and create a more compassionate, loving and just world.

The Place Where Love Lives would not have been possible without a lifetime of love and support from my husband, parents, children, brothers and sisters, friends, and the many people who have inspired me throughout my life.

Namaste
